Challenging Challenge

30 Jul

This challenge is HARD! When I first started this challenge I thought this would not be so challenging to keep up with. So for that I apologize. Hopefully, I can continue this without messing up again.

Tomorrow is a new day!

S.C.D.D.

Same Crap, Different. Day. Something I’ve heard quite a few times in my lifetime. Living in a small town in the middle of nowhere doesn’t allow for many job opportunities. When someone can score a job, they most likely go with it no matter if they don’t like it. Today, I am SO grateful to have a job and to have the opportunity to go to school and get an education in a field that I love.

It inspires me to really try my best to succeed. Why go after something if you aren’t going to give it your all?

Mr. Always Awesome!

27 Jul

I know that it’s technically day 5, but since i had to make up for missing day 3 I will now do my day 4 challenge. (Did anyone even understand that?!?!) ANYWAYS!

Day 4:

When things get really crappy, it’s really great to have a support system. In this case, the Mr. has been a huge source of stability and strength for me. I am so uncertain about whether or not I’ll have a place to live by the end of the week, but somehow he makes me feel as if things will be ok.

It’s nice to have someone to be there experiencing things with you. For that I am super crazy grateful for the Mr.

My 21st (he’s scruffy because of No-Shave November…)

October 11 this year will be our 2 years. 10/11/12!!!! Crazy! We have been through so much together and it just makes us that much stronger. He inspires me to be the best person I can be. :)

Yikes!

OH MY GOSH! I forgot to do a challenge post yesterday! So I will do day 3 today.

Today, Yesterday was soooo stressful and busy. Have you tried to find a house to live in 2 weeks before college classes start? I have called over 30 people yesterday asking about their houses to rent. In that time almost all of them were rented out! I have been really stressing about this coming year and finding a place to live (that isn’t in my friend’s living room). The Mr. and I could just not catch a break. Impending homelessness is not a good burden to have upon one’s shoulders. This brings me to my third thing to be grateful and inspired by: friends, and I mean GOOD friends.

I have been SO FREAKING LUCKY to have friends who are so accommodating and caring to open their homes to me and the Mr. and not just that, they have been so gracious and kind. Even though I have really been stressing the last few days, my friends have really helped to lift me up and support Mr. so much. They are pretty awesome and if they were ever in a situation like us, there would be zero hesitation in opening my doors for them. They are pretty fun to be around too.

So C&J (my awesome friends) inspire me to be a good friend like they have been to us. :) Life can really suck at times but there’s always a little joy to be had in any situation.

In other news: WEDDING PHOTOS!!! Remember my how my bestie got hitched a few weeks ago? Well they are FINALLY posting photos of everything and I cannot wait to share them with you. It was the most amazing wedding, ever.

Toms wedding! (Check out this guy’s mad photography skillz on facebook! AYERSphoto)

Gorgeous am I right?!?!?

Let me know what you are thankful for and what inspires you!!!

Open Road

24 Jul

Today has been an extremely busy and stressful day. I have been house hunting and calling people like crazy. Driving by houses (like a creeper) and looking at houses all day have left me so grateful to have a working vehicle that gets me places. People have survived with less, and I could probably start riding my bike more often but this little honda has really kept up with all my errands and house hunting recently.

(Note the crazy colors!)

With all of this running around today, I have worked up a crazy appetite. So, I’m REALLY inspired to make some chicken alfredo AND a mozzarella ball recipe I found on pinterest.

Baked Mozzarella Balls

I cannot wait to try these babies out! Yum!

Moving, Life, Love.

Hello everyone!

OH MY! Summer has been one hundred times more busy than I had anticipated. The man and I have decided to buy a house! We have been looking for a while and are trying to get pre-approved for a loan. So wish us luck! In the meantime our lease has ended at our old place so we are currently staying with friends. I am so lucky and blessed to have people who are willing to open their homes to us as we try to get a loan going and find a house.

In light of many different events that have happened in my life and in the country recently I have decided to do a 30 day challenge. I’m going to put fashion and beauty aside for a while and really focus on life and enjoying my experiences. With everything that has happened it really puts the meaning of things into focus. For some, fashion and makeup and latest trends are their life. For me, those things are not as important and spending time with the ones I love and care about and basking in the joys life has to offer me.

The challenge: Each day for 30 days I’m going to write about something that I am grateful for and find something to inspire myself in different aspects of life. I’m going to start TODAY! I hope that YOU follow along on my journey and I would love to hear what you think every day of my challenge!

Don’t fret yet my beauty junkies! I, along with my challenge will still continue to post fashion and makeup tips. :)

Day 1 July 23:

Today has been a tough day. I have finally finished moving into my temporary home and have moved my dog Gunner to his temporary home at another friends home. (My temporary home doesn’t allow pets.) Even though he has really tried my patience at times, he has been an amazing dog. Even on days when I just want to lay in bed and wallow in sadness, Gunner absolutely does not let me do that. He insists on cuddling and loving on me even when I ignore him.  For his unconditional love and cuddles I am so grateful for! He inspires me on a daily basis to get up and be happy. Not having him waiting for me when I get home is going to be hard but I know that once we get a house (with a big yard) he will still love me. Being a pet parent is awesome!

My Best Friend’s Wedding

9 Jul

I have been away for so long! Thankfully, it was for an amazing reason I will never forget. My best friend got married! Hopefully, when she returns from her honeymoon she will have photos of the wedding up!

My mind has been going crazy with thoughts of love, friendship, and promises and their meanings. Life is so much more than designer labels and the newest makeup trend. It’s about having a great love and friends and family who are willing to come together to celebrate that. I have been so incredibly blessed to have been a part of this beautiful wedding. Johnathan and Jessica are the most wonderful couple and they set an example of love to everyone they meet.

Aren’t they a beautiful couple?!?! (Photo courtesy of: AYERSphoto like him on facebook!)

Here’s to Johnathan and Jess. They are such an amazing couple and they SO deserve to have each other and the love that just radiates from them.

AAAANNNNDDD…enough of the sappy…

Because I have been so busy this weekend fulfilling bridesmaid duties, I rarely had time to take photos, but soon I will post some of the bridal party photos and maybe a makeup tutorial on what I did for my makeup.

My bridesmaid shoes and bouquet. Aren’t they awesome!??!
